Hi there! Our initial hiring process is now basically wrapped up :) We are still finalizing our list of candidates, but (since we’re not looking for more applications) the job application link is no longer active. FINALLY! Time to get down to business.

What we’re looking for

  • 2 to 3 client care staff. Ideally, one of y’all would be interested in stepping up to a leadership role at some point in the near- to medium-term future

  • 5 to 6 nursing staff. Of those, we’re hoping for (roughly) 2 super-skilled, super-experienced folks, 2 people with pretty basic competence, and 1 or 2 with no experience. We know we want to train our own staff, and we might as well start right off the bat. Don’t worry, there will also be leadership opportunities for interested parties on the nursing team!

Pay rates

  • Our goal is for our average pay rate at open to be $24 an hour. Basically, we foresee paying our most green hires about $20/hour, our basic-competence folks about $24/hour, and the most skilled and experienced staff members somewhere in the $28/hour range. This applies to both nursing and client care staff.

Tentative opening schedule

  • Friday through Sunday, 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM

  • By appointment only: Monday and Tuesday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

    • Mondays and Tuesdays will initially be used for follow-up care like bandage changes, lab work, etc., when the patient’s primary vet prefers we manage the case to completion

We are very, VERY much looking forward to starting this process with you all. It’s been a long time coming, but the end (really, the beginning) is in sight…!


Hiring Announcement #2

Hello again! Happy to report that we’re still on track for the hiring timeline we proposed at the end of March:

  • Job ads will be posted on Monday, June 10th

  • Applications will be reviewed as they come in; we’ll schedule phone interviews with the folks who look good on paper (hopefully everyone!), then in-person interviews for those whose phone interviews go well

New details/updates:

  • Hiring decisions will be made by Friday, August 9th

  • Onboarding (paperwork, etc.) will take place over the next week or so, and we’re hoping to start the first pay period on Monday, August 19th

  • As of now, our projected opening day is Friday, September 13th, so that initial pay period will be composed exclusively of training (online and in-person)

Y’all are the first people to hear about the official (tentative) opening date, so keep it hush-hush for the moment, please! This announcement will be posted on our social channels at some point this week for popular consumption (and in a slightly edited format), but feel free to share with any interested parties in the meantime.


Hiring Announcement #1

We will post open jobs and begin accepting applications on June 11th. Interviews with promising candidates will be scheduled in late June and early July, with an eye towards making hiring decisions and extending employment offers the week of July 15th. The specific dates are still subject to change, so keep your eyes open for updates, but hopefully this gives interested parties a general idea. Thank you for your patience!
