Suzy Jones, DVM, MS, CVA
Dr. Suzy Jones has been a small animal veterinarian in Santa Fe for over ten years. She graduated from Colorado State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine following her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Microbiology from Eastern New Mexico University. In 2024, she completed the Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) program at the Chi University in Reddick, Florida. Dr. Jones’s professional interests include internal medicine, nutrition and gastroenterology, cardiac and abdominal ultrasound and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine including acupuncture, food therapy, and herbology.
Her interest in veterinary medicine began at a very young age when she spent summers with both grandparents on their cattle ranches on the Laguna Pueblo reservation and outside of Portales, New Mexico. Other experiences such as raising Holstein dairy calves on a dairy farm, working for ambulatory dairy veterinarians, and practicing applied microbiology in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory solidified her desire to become a veterinarian.
Dr. Jones has been involved in a mentorship program for local high school students at Monte del Sol since 2014. This program exposes high school students to the field of veterinary medicine as a potential career path. She was recently awarded an “Outstanding Mentor” award, which she is very proud of and holds close to her heart.
Dr. Jones is honored to have the opportunity to care for her wonderful patients and clients. She loves calling Santa Fe “home” and lives with her family and three “Pet-A-Bulls” rescue dogs. When she’s not at the clinic, she's at the gym doing Crossfit, skiing, listening to reggae music, or tending to her 200+ houseplants.
